History
Established in 2002 as a not-for-profit corporation, the School District 300 Foundation for Educational Excellence is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. The Board and Foundation Committees are composed of teaching, community and business leaders who are committed to high-quality public education.

Not for Profit Status
The Foundation operates independently of Community Unit School District 300 and is responsible for the financial management of its own resources. It is qualified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization to receive tax-deductible donations. The Foundation welcomes corporate and private donations, planned and memorial gifts and contributions of equipment, services or property.

Community
The Foundation will work with private and corporate donors to cultivate educational programs and activities not typically financed with tax dollars. Students will have the opportunity to reach new levels of academic achievement, become lifelong learners and better citizens.

Our Goals
Student Development. The Foundation will support supplemental educational enrichment activities, expand opportunities for quality education and provide resources for unique learning needs.

Staff Excellence. The Foundation will provide resources to support innovation and creativity among District 300 educators, as well as unique opportunities for research and development.

School/Community Collaboration. By facilitating cooperative ventures, the Foundation will provide alternative methods for individuals and organizations to channel resources to District 300 classrooms. It will foster unity and collaboration and a greater understanding of educational issues among area residents, businesses and district alumni, and will promote the school district as a center for community learning.
